TrustyHunt is a small team on purpose. Every review is written by someone with real experience in the category they cover — a former line cook tests our knives, a dentist weighs in on toothbrushes, a barista trains our coffee testers. We'd rather publish fewer, deeper reviews than chase every product launch.
Sarah Johnson
Editor-in-Chief & Kitchen LeadSarah spent 12 years in professional kitchens in Chicago and Portland before trading her chef's knife for a keyboard. She has tested more than 300 kitchen tools for TrustyHunt and still cooks dinner every night — mostly to justify buying more equipment.
Dr. Emily Carter
Health & Wellness EditorEmily is a licensed dentist (DDS, University of Michigan) who reviews oral care products and advises on anything health-adjacent. She reads clinical studies so you don't have to and is deeply skeptical of marketing claims — including the ones our own testers make.
Michael Torres
Coffee & Beverage SpecialistMichael worked as a barista and coffee roaster for 8 years and holds an SCA barista certification. He has brewed an estimated 4,000+ shots and cups in the name of testing. His article on espresso versus drip coffee started as an argument with a coworker.
David Park
Home Technology EditorDavid covers smart home gear, air quality, and anything with a circuit board. A former smart-home installer, he logs actual energy and air-quality data in his own house — which his family describes as "a bit much." He covers thermostats, purifiers, and connected appliances.
Lisa Chen
Beauty & Personal Care EditorLisa is a former salon stylist who tested hair tools professionally before joining TrustyHunt. She measures heat accuracy, drying time, and hair damage the same way she did behind the chair, and she refuses to recommend anything that fry-finishes hair for the sake of speed.
Emma Wilson
Cleaning & Home Appliances LeadEmma runs our cleaning lab with an unusual amount of enthusiasm for mess. A former professional home organizer, she stress-tests vacuums with flour, pet hair, and glitter (her nemesis). She also covers food storage and kitchen organization.
How Our Team Works
Each guide has one lead tester and one reviewing editor. The lead does the hands-on testing and writes the draft; the reviewing editor challenges the picks, re-checks claims, and has the power to veto. Neither person is allowed to know the commercial terms of any link before scores are locked.
You can read more about our full process on our How We Test page, and see our independence commitments in our affiliate disclosure.
Work With Us
We occasionally add contributing testers with genuine category expertise. If you're a chef, stylist, hygienist, technician, or professional organizer who likes breaking down gear for normal people, say hello at editorial@trustyhunt.com.
